Community Memorial Trees

Hospice of Washington County will be displaying the Community Memorial Trees at the new Washington Public Library starting the end of November throughout the month of December. We invite you to donate an ornament in your loved one’s memory to be displayed on the tree, this year and for many years to come. Ornaments will become property of Hospice of Washington County therefore not returnable and will be placed on the tree year after year. This is a community wide tribute; your loved one did not need to have hospice services to be honored on the Community Memorial Trees

We would like the ornament to indicate who it is to memorialize in a manner that is permanent, either on the ornament or by a securely attached tag. Please include any important information such as names, dates, towns or who gave the ornament.

Please submit memorial ornaments to Hospice of Washington County 948 East 11th Street; Washington, IA or call for more information 319.653.7321.

We have a job opening – we are looking for a full-time nurse. Please see the careers page.

Hospice of Washington County first opened its doors thirty years ago in May 1988 serving the Washington County community. This year we are honored to celebrate our 30th anniversary of providing quality, compassionate end-of-life care for our community, which now includes Henry, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Louisa, Muscatine and Washington Counties.

As part of our yearlong celebration we are holding a 30 day - $300,000 fundraising campaign. We want to ensure future success by creating a base from which we can continue to grow. Please consider making a tax deductible financial contribution to the Hospice of Washington County Foundation to help us meet this goal. By making a donation you will be helping Hospice of Washington County continue to provide hospice and palliative care to our community members and their families..

No donation is too small! A snowflake alone is fragile, but when many snowflakes join they become strong and unstoppable like an avalanche.

Mark your calendars- we will be holding our 30th anniversary celebration on May 22, 2018. We will have an open house from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and will host Alive After Five from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm. The event will be held at our office at 948 East 11th Street in Washington. We will serve light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments for your enjoyment while you tour our office and meet the staff, volunteers and board members.

Please come join us as we pay honor to those that shaped and built this organization from the grass roots to what it is today!
